We have another FanPulse coming to you for Super Bowl week, and since we’re not in it, there won’t be a confidence poll for the Seattle Seahawks. In the meantime, there were plenty of national questions specifically about this Sunday and Super Bowls in general that may be of your interest.
First up, heads or tails? I have always been told that “tails never fails” but I have been told a lot of lies throughout my life. It seems as if that “tails never fails” skepticism has led to a majority of respondents picking heads.

Okay, so you’ve won the coin toss... now what? The decision to defer to the second half is a fairly recent rule in the NFL. Up until 2008, if you chose to kick the ball off after winning the toss, you were basically allowing the receiving team to get the ball first in each half. Deferring has flipped strategy around, so having your defense on the field first has been considered the better way to go.

Let’s move away from the freaking coin toss to more important questions. I’ve not been to a Super Bowl party since 2003, and every other year outside of that has been spent watching at home. Most of the FanPulse respondents have the same tendency to stay at home instead of go to a party, a bar, or the luxury of attending the game in-person.

Sometimes “at a party” means you’re hosting the damn thing yourself. Not everyone is invited for various reasons, but the #1 reason in this poll was “your relative who’s still complaining about player protests.” Chances are you don’t invite them to anything else, either.

It’s prop bet time! I am not aware of Demi Lovato’s music, so I cannot make any educated guess on how long her national anthem will last, but I think we can all bank on at least four commercials involving dogs.

Last but not least, would you rather have a Super Bowl Saturday or making the day after the Super Bowl a national holiday? The latter seems to benefit everyone even if they don’t give a damn about football. Your answers were overwhelming.

Enjoy the big game, everyone!
