2020 NFL Offseason: Key dates, events, and info for Seahawks fans to know

We are in Week 1 of the 2020 NFL offseason, and with your insatiable appetite for some form of NFL news, you probably want to know what are some of the key dates and other information to know over the next several months. You’re in luck! That’s what this post is for.

February 11th, 9 AM PT - NFL clubs may begin to sign players whose 2020 CFL contracts have expired.

February 24th-March 2nd - NFL Combine.

February 25th - First day for clubs to put franchise or transition tag on players.

March 10th - Last day for tagging period.

March 16th-March 18th - Clubs are permitted to contact and/or negotiate with unrestricted free agents, aka “legal tampering.”

March 18th, 1 PM PT - New League Year/Free Agency opens. Trades can also begin/be officially processed.

March 29th-April 1st - Annual league meeting in Florida.

April 17th - Deadline for restricted free agents to sign offer sheets.

April 23rd-25th - 2020 NFL Draft from Las Vegas, Nevada.

April 27th - NFL clubs may request permission to visit with, try out, or sign any player who was under contract to the XFL. By this point, the XFL season will have concluded.

May 1st-4th, 8th-11th - Three-day rookie minicamps can be held.

May 19th-20th - Spring league meetings held.

July 15th - Deadline for franchise-tagged players to sign multiyear contracts or an extension.
