Not that Tedric Thompson was ever likely to stay with the Seattle Seahawks in the 2020 season, but there is a chance that Seattle could get a draft pick out of his departure.
The much-maligned free safety has reportedly been given permission to seek a trade.
Seattle #Seahawks starting free safety Tedric Thompson has been given permission to seek a trade, source said. Would likely be for a late-round draft pick.

Thompson ended what was a brutal 2019 season on injured reserve with a lingering shoulder problem. He was the replacement for Earl Thomas after Earl’s leg break in 2018 and kept his starting job through this past season, often showing himself to be a complete liability on the field.
Seattle’s current safety rotation consists of Marquise Blair, Quandre Diggs, and Bradley McDougald, so Tedric was always going to be the odd man out.
I would consider it a major win if the Seahawks got anything back for Thompson. At worst, considering he’s still on his rookie deal, they could just cut him and save over $2 million in cap space. Whatever the case, Thompson’s days in Seattle are surely over, it’s just a matter of when it’ll be made official.
