The Seattle Seahawks have bolstered their depth with the recent infusion of youth in the 2020 NFL Draft, along with the reported additions of more than a dozen undrafted free agents. The team used three draft picks to address the defensive front seven, including a first round pick on linebacker Jordyn Brooks, a second round pick on defensive end Darrell Taylor and a fifth round pick on Alton Robinson.

However, a small move may indicate that the team is ready to move on without one of the key members of the 2019 defensive front seven.

Jarran Reed taking number 90 back is, of course, significant in that that was the number that Jadeveon Clowney wore during the 2019 season, and the fact that the team has reassigned the number could be indicative that Clowney may not be back in the future. Obviously, it could simply result in Clowney needing to purchase the number from Reed yet again, but in any case, this is just another indication that the team may have moved on.

So, while the Clowney watch will continue as long as he remains a free agent, this is just another indication that he might be plying his trade elsewhere during the 2020 season. If there is a 2020 season.
