When the NFL announced its 2020 schedule recently, as is normal it did not announce official dates for preseason games. Preseason games are arranged and scheduled by the individual teams, rather than by the league, so that announcement comes at a different time. That time is, apparently, May 19.

So, the preseason games for the Seattle Seahawks will be:
- Thursday, August 13 at home against the Las Vegas Raiders (7:00 PM PT kickoff)
- Saturday, August 22 on the road against the Houston Texans (5:00 PM PT kickoff)
- Thursday, August 27 at home against the Los Angeles Chargers (7:00 PM PT kickoff)
- Thursday, September 3 on the road against the Minnesota Vikings (5:00 PM PT kickoff)
In addition, with the first preseason game set for August 13, preseason should start two weeks prior on July 30 for veterans. Teams have been allowed to have rookies start training camp up to a week prior to veterans, an option that the Seahawks had traditionally eschewed up until last summer.
In any case, it’s now possible to mark with some level of certainty when fans will be able to see the Hawks back on the field, and hopefully it’s just a matter of waiting until August 13, rather than having outside issues push the start of the preseason or the regular season back.
