Watch John Schneider make the call to every 2020 Seahawks draft pick

NFL Combine - Day 2

One of the great traditions of a Seattle Seahawks draft is when we get to see the moment when John Schneider or Pete Carroll makes that phone call, and we hear and/or see the reactions of players when they’re taken. I’m still in tears every time I watch the Shaquem Griffin call-up from two years ago.

This year saw the Seahawks make eight draft selections, starting with linebacker Jordyn Brooks at #27 and then the surprise of trading into the seventh-round to get LSU tight end Stephen Sullivan at #251. By far the most emotional reaction came from Sullivan, who kept saying “don’t play with me, coach!” before crying tears of joy. When the realization hit, he said “let’s get to work, coach!”

Also take a look at the Darrell Taylor pick, as Schneider tells him “I’m the short, pasty white guy you had lunch with.” Taylor laughed and then offered up some thanks and a “yes sir” after John confirmed they would take him in the second round.

All of the picks are up for your viewing pleasure, so sit back and enjoy!
