After a longer than usual offseason, ans of the Seattle Seahawks were excited to finally get to see something resembling football, with the team taking to the field at Century Link for a mock game. The team wasn't too deep into the untelevised, unreported on game, when things came to a screeching halt.

That is obviously a scary development, and is a very sudden reminder that while football offers a great distraction from the pandemic, it carries its own significant risks.
However, the most recent update on Branden Jackson and his injury was positive, and hopefully further good news comes regarding his health in the coming days and weeks.
Pete Carroll says "it was a like a knockout punch" to DE Branden Jackson. Carroll says Jackson was moving his extremities as he was loaded onto the ambulance and taken to the hospital. #Seahawks

There is no denying that football can be a brutal sport, and while there were certainly injury concerns following a unique offseason, this wasn't the kind of concern that was front and center for most. However, the reports that Jackson was moving his extremities is certainly a positive development, and Field Gulls will be sure to bring you further developments as they come through the rest of camp.
