Seahawks have two roster spots open after waiving Emmanuel Ellerbee

Just some housekeeping to start this first week of August.

Firstly, the Seattle Seahawks officially placed Chance Warmack on the reserve/opt-out list, as the former first-round offensive lineman remains the only Seattle player to opt-out of the 2020 season due to COVID-19 concerns.

Secondly, Seattle also waived linebacker Emmanuel Ellerbee with an injury designation. He reverted to injured reserve but he does not take up a roster space.

Ellerbee played in four games in 2018 after he was claimed off waivers in midseason. He was on injured reserve for all of 2019 after hurting his knee. As you can see, pictures of him in a Seahawks uniform as so hard to come by that I had to use one from his playing days at Rice University.

This puts the Seahawks at 78 players on the roster at the moment, so they do have two open spots and I’m sure you will use that info to wildly speculate that they’re making room for Jadeveon Clowney and perhaps Josh Gordon.
