Today I removed this post from the Field Gulls front page. It’s been up there for almost six months and back then I had suggested that there was a real possibility that we’d have no NFL season. We may still not necessarily complete this NFL season as intended, but within a matter of minutes there will be a game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Houston Texans with fans in attendance at Arrowhead Stadium. Whether having fans there is a good idea even at a reduced, physically distanced level is not something I want to debate, I just want to hammer home the point that football is back.
We even have a snazzy new predictions service called Tallysight, where you can read predictions from us (the Field Gulls staff!) throughout the season. Take a look at what me and Alistair Corp have got for Week 1!
The game kicks off at 5:20 PM PT on NBC tonight. This is the first game thread with Coral so I recommend setting comments to “oldest” at the top so it can still feel like the old system. Other than that, enjoy the game and welcome back to football.
Thanks for being with us this offseason.
