The Seattle Seahawks kick off Week 1 of the 2020 NFL season against the Atlanta Falcons taking advantage of the new CBA with a 54 man active roster. In addition to the fact that teams have the ability to expand their gameday rosters, there are also changes to the inactives for the league as well.

Under the CBA ratified in the spring teams are now able to keep up to 48 players active on gameday, if at least eight of those 48 players are offensive linemen. If a team keeps only seven or fewer offensive linemen active, then it may have no more than 47 players active for the game.

Thus, with the Seahawks promoting Chad Wheeler to the active roster, whether they kept Wheeler, the ailing Jamarco Jones or both active, they would have been entitled to the full complement of 48 active players, as they have all five starters active to go along with B.J. Finney and Jordan Simmons as depth on the interior of the offensive line.

For the opener against the Falcons, the inactives are:

So, the six Seahawks inactive for the game are:

  • Cedric Ogbuehi
  • Phillip Dorsett
  • DeeJay Dallas
  • Alton Robinson
  • D’Andre Walker
  • Jamarco Jones
