The Seattle Seahawks’ home opener is under the primetime lights and on Sunday Night Football, but because of the COVID-19 pandemic there are no fans in the stands for what would’ve otherwise been a raucous atmosphere for Seattle’s showdown with the New England Patriots.
All of the talk surrounding this game is about the quarterbacks. Cam Newton is making his return to Seattle for the first time since 2016, and historically he has only had two wins against the Seahawks in his career. Russell Wilson is 2-1 against New England but we sure wish that one loss was in the regular season and not the Super Bowl. Newton was efficient in his Pats debut, while Wilson looked like the MVP candidate we’ve come to expect when the team beat up the Atlanta Falcons. New England’s defense is far superior to Atlanta’s, so it should be a fascinating matchup.
