Russell Wilson is now Vegas-favorite for MVP

There’s probably somebody, somewhere, who still thinks that Russell Wilson is overrated. But now, the people with the money are paying attention and aligning with the MV3 movement.

Ten of the major sports betting companies have moved Wilson up to be the MVP frontrunner after embarrassing Stephon Gilmore throwing five touchdowns against the New England Patriots on Sunday Night Football.

The most frequent line for Wilson’s campaign right now is +300, which carries an implicit weight of a 25% chance to win the award this year. It’s the number that Patrick Mahomes opened the season at and this is the first time this season that Wilson is the majority frontrunner.

Nobody new entered the conversation after Week 2, though Aaron Rodgers has closed the gap as fourth-favored down to +800 / +900 at a handful of places. The line on Josh Allen has not changed despite an impressive two-game stretch to open the season.

For the Seahawks and Wilson, Week 3 is against the Dallas Cowboys, who have given up 59 points in the first two games. I don’t see this slowing down for Russell Wilson just yet.
