Since suffering a stinger in the Seahawks’ Week 1 win over the Falcons, Rasheem Green has been out of practice with his status unclear. Shortly after Green was declared as out for Week 3 by Seattle, his status in the foreseeable future became a little more clear. The team placed Green on injured reserve, per ESPN’s Field Yates.

Green’s placement on the injured reserve will see him held out at least through the Seahawks’ bye week, meaning he will be eligible to return in Week 7.
In a media session shortly after Green’s placement on I.R. was reported, Pete Carroll told reporters Green should be ready to return around that Week 7 mark.
Pete Carroll said Rasheem Green will just need a few more weeks to get back from the stinger. "He's just got to get through the process and make sure he can pass his tests."

Pete Carroll says DE Rasheem Green (neck/stinger) is going to take a couple weeks before he can get back. That's why it made sense to place him on IR. He'll be back later in the season, Carroll said.

As a result of Green going on injured reserve, Seattle now has an open roster spot available. Carroll told reporters they had made a decision on who that roster spot is going to go to but wouldn’t announce the move yet.
Pete Carroll is not saying who will fill the open roster spot with Green going to IR. #Seahawks

Expect the Seahawks’ corresponding move to be announced by the team on Saturday, ahead of the team’s Week 3 game against the Cowboys on Sunday afternoon.
