On Wednesday, the Seattle Seahawks brought in a pair of players for a visit: Justin Britt and Damontre Moore. While Britt was the obvious name to attract attention, it was Moore who earned the immediate roster spot. According to Moore’s agent, Joby Branion, Moore and the Seahawks agreed to terms on a deal on Thursday.
Congratulations to my guy Damontre Moore @tmoore94 who signed with the @Seahawks today! So proud of his personal growth, resilience and determination. Written off by almost everyone - well, he's baaaack! @VanguardSG @AggieFootball Gig 'em, brother!— Joby Branion (@jobybranion) September 3, 2020
This will be Moore’s second stint in Seattle. In 2016, Moore spent four games with the Seahawks before suffering a season-ending injury. In those four games, Moore registered seven tackles and 0.5 sacks.
Since his time in Seattle, Moore has been unable to gain a foothold anywhere, spending three games with the Cowboys in 2017 and two games with the Raiders and 49ers in 2018 and ‘19. In 56 career games, Moore has totaled 10 sacks and 29 QB hits.
With training camp coming to an end, Moore will join Benson Mayowa, Rasheem Green, L.J. Collier, and Alton Robinson at defensive end. Second-round pick Darrell Taylor continues to work his way back from an injury, while Bruce Irvin and Shaquem Griffin will also enter the rotation on passing downs.
