On Thursday, the Jacksonville Jaguars and head coach Urban Meyer added former Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell to their staff. On Friday, another long-time Seattle coach joined the staff, with former special teams coordinator Brian Schneider taking the same position in Jacksonville.
The #Jaguars are expected to hire Brian Schneider as their special teams coordinator, per source. Schneider had held the same job with the #Seahawks since Pete Carroll arrived in 2010.

Schneider had been with the Seahawks since 2010, coming to Seattle with Pete Carroll after spending 2009 at USC. Early on in Schneider’s time with the Seahawks, their special teams were among the best in the league. However, in recent seasons, that form dipped considerably, leading many to want a change from Schneider.
Prior to Week 1 of the 2020 season, Seattle announced Schneider was taking time away from the team for personal reasons, with Larry Izzo taking over as special teams coordinator. In November, Schneider returned to the team, but Carroll told reporters Izzo was remaining in his role as coordinator. The Seahawks finished the season as the third ranked special teams in DVOA.
With Schneider headed to the Jaguars, Seattle will make Izzo the permanent special teams coordinator ahead of the 2021 season.
With Brian Schneider departing for Jacksonville, the #Seahawks are expected to promote Larry Izzo to replace Schneider as special teams coordinator, per source.
