We don’t know yet who will be the Seattle Seahawks’ next offensive coordinator, but one of the early names that surfaced can be crossed off the list.
Former Los Angeles Chargers head coach Anthony Lynn’s next job will be as an offensive coordinator, but for Dan Campbell and the Detroit Lions.
Per sources, the Detroit Lions will be hiring former Chargers coach Anthony Lynn as their offensive coordinator.

Lynn reportedly spoke with the Seahawks about the vacant position, but we obviously know nothing super serious came out of it. This will be his first full season as an OC after previously serving as interim coordinator in Buffalo back in 2016. With news that Matthew Stafford and Detroit are mutually parting ways, it’s likely that Lynn won’t know which quarterback he’ll be working with for quite some time.
So if you’re keeping score, it’s fair to say that Lynn, Mike Kafka, and Doug Pederson aren’t getting the Seahawks OC spot due to various reasons. The most recent report had the Seahawks asking to speak to Saints quarterbacks coach and former Lions OC Joe Lombardi.
By the way, we will see Lynn in Seattle during the 2021 regular season, as the Seahawks host the Lions at a date TBD.
