The net has been cast so wide for the next Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator that I think I’m scheduled for a Zoom call with Pete Carroll on Tuesday. I suppose if that’s the case then lemme just say that I was a prodigy playing Madden on the Nintendo 64.
Anyway as for reality, one of the first names to surface as a potential replacement for Brian Schottenheimer was former Los Angeles Chargers offensive coordinator Shane Steichen. While the Chargers predictably had another year of “How’d they lose that?” losses and bad luck, Steichen did oversee a very successful rookie season for quarterback Justin Herbert. The running game? Ehhhhhhh not so much.
Well if you hold any strong opinions either way on Steichen, he’s not going to be coming to Seattle.
Former Chargers’ OC Shane Steichen is arriving today in Philadelphia, where he is expected to become the Eagles’ new offensive coordinator, per source.

Steichen and head coach Nick Sirianni will be tasked with fixing Carson Wentz... and/or developing Jalen Hurts... and/or really seeing what Nate Sudfeld has to offer.
And so the beat goes on. Anthony Lynn was hired by the Detroit Lions as their offensive coordinator, Mike Kafka is staying in Kansas City, and Doug Pederson seems more likely than not to just take 2021 off.
Stick around as we keep you up to date on who is and isn’t in the running for Seahawks offensive coordinator.
