NFL: San Francisco 49ers at Seattle Seahawks Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

The 2020 Seattle Seahawks (11-4) regular season comes to a close at the same site as their first defeat of the season, State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. That’s because due to COVID-19 regulations in Santa Clara, the San Francisco 49ers (6-9) can’t even play in their home stadium, so the home of the Cardinals also doubles as the home of the Niners.

While San Francisco’s injury-riddled, disappointing season will come to an end after this one, Seattle will be in the playoffs once again with Pete Carroll and Russell Wilson. As NFC West champs for the first time since 2016, Seattle can still get the #1 seed if they beat the 49ers and the Green Bay Packers and New Orleans Saints both lose their games. They’re guaranteed the #3 seed, but depending on other results they can move up to #2 or the coveted #1 and first-round bye.
