The Seattle Seahawks entered the 2021 season with an abundance of depth at the tackle position, even as Duane Brown held in through training camp while asking for a contract extension.
In addition to Brown, the Hawks had 2020 free agent addition and starter at right tackle in Brandon Shell, as well as 2020 free agent signing and swing tackle Cedric Ogbuehi. Behind those two, Jamarco Jones held claim to the first depth spot, with rookies Jake Curhan and Stone Forsythe on the 53 man roster as well. Given all that depth at the tackle spot, and with the team in need of a roster spot in order for running back Rashaad Penny to return from injured reserve, the report should not come as much of a surprise.
#Seahawks are releasing OT Cedric Ogbuehi. The veteran started the season on IR and got lost in the shuffle in Seattle. Should have some interest on the market from teams in need of OL help.

Ogbuehi is yet another of the 2021 free agent signings for the Seahawks who has not worked out as planned, and joins Ahkello Witherspoon as the free agent signing whose contract used void years in order to minimize the cap hit who is no longer on the team.
