The Seattle Seahawks (1-2) are on the road again, this time for the first divisional game of the season against the San Francisco 49ers (2-1).
A dreadful defensive play saw the Seahawks provide little resistance against a Minnesota Vikings offense that probably should’ve put up more than 30 points. We also can’t lose sight of the fact that the offense started hot again and cooled to the tune of 0 2nd half points. It’s not quite panic time but in the gauntlet that is the NFC West the room for error is small for the Seahawks.
As for the 49ers, they were in line for a 3-0 start before Aaron Rodgers did Aaron Rodgers things in the final minute of last week’s Sunday Night Football thriller. Once again they are dealing with several injuries on both sides of the ball, but this time Jimmy Garoppolo has been healthy through the early part of the season. He’s still the starting QB until further notice and he’s never lost consecutive starts within a season. Then again... Russell Wilson has never lost three straight in the NFL. Something’s gotta give.
The Seahawks will once again be without rookie receiver Dee Eskridge due to a concussion, even though he did practice this week. Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf are both expected to play, while Brandon Shell is out for a second straight week at right tackle. For the 49ers, George Kittle should be available despite a calf injury but cornerbacks K’Waun Williams and Josh Norman won’t play.
