Darrell Taylor and Carlos Dunlap on Seahawks initial Week 5 injury report

NFL: Seattle Seahawks at Minnesota Vikings Brad Rempel-USA TODAY Sports

The Seattle Seahawks stayed out of last place in the NFC West Sunday with a win over the San Francisco 49ers (or perhaps I should say the 4th-place 9ers), and can improve on that positioning Thursday. That’s when the Seahawks will take on the Los Angeles Rams, with the winner of the game holding on to second place in the division, behind the upstart Arizona Cardinals who are sitting atop the division at 4-0 behind some stellar quarterbacking from Kyler Murray.

In any case, the short week means an early initial injury report on Monday, and for the Seahawks there are a lot of names on the list that weren’t there last week. In particular, the defensive line has five names on the list, though some bring more concern than others.

The fact that both Benson Mayowa and Carlos Dunlap would likely have been limited participants is reassuring, as is the fact that Al Woods was simply given a veteran rest day. However, Darrell Taylor inactive with an ankle injury is not welcome news, and obviously the concern would be if his campaign could be derailed by a legit high ankle sprain but no reason to worry just yet.

So, a lot of situations worth monitoring as the week progresses, which with the short week could mean a lot of names that might normally be able to go on Sunday could stay on the sidelines because of the limited recovery time.
