Seahawks elevate Phillip Dorsett from practice squad, move Dee Eskridge to IR

NFL: New England Patriots at Houston Texans Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

Thursday night the Seattle Seahawks and the Los Angeles Rams face off in a key NFC West divisional matchup in a rivalry that has been heavily one sided since Sean McVay arrived in Southern California. The Hawks are just 3-6 against the Rams since McVay was hired in 2017, with the three wins coming in games in which:

  • Cooper Kupp dropped a potential go ahead touchdown in the end zone with twelve seconds left in 2017,
  • Greg Zuerlein missed a very makeable field goal that would have given the Rams a win in 2019 and
  • Jared Goff was even less competent than usual playing much of the second half with a broken thumb in 2020.

In any case, when the Hawks and Rams face off Thursday, Seattle fans may finally get to see 2020 free agent addition Phillip Dorsett, but the Hawks will be without rookie Dee Eskridge for at least two more games after tonight.

Eskridge, of course, suffered a concussion in the Week 1 win over the Indianapolis Colts, and will be eligible to come off injured reserve following the Monday Night Football game against the New Orleans Saints in Week 7.
