Patrick Dees, the co-founder and Chief Gaming Officer of Fan Controlled Football joined the latest episode of the podcast this week to discuss the story behind the newest professional football league. Dees began his tech career with a business he described as the “Kelly Blue Book of cell phones” and now finds himself interacting with former Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch. Tune into the podcast as he recalls a recent story from the broadcast booth, getting punched in the kidney by Lynch, and how it led to this legendary Marshawn moment:

As Chief Gaming Officer of the FCF, Dees talks about how playing video games has helped inspire his vision of how he wanted to reinvent football for an audience on Twitch. He also talks about his first experience with professional indoor football and how the Salt Lake franchise was nearly named Teamy McTeamface. Yet, he still believes in giving fans a tremendous amount of control. Coming up in a couple weeks, fans will have the opportunity to help shape how the postseason will operate for the league.

Prior to the discussion with Patrick, Clinton Bonner brings three early offseason narratives to the show and the reason why each scenario should be avoided. He says the Seahawks don’t need to pay a high-priced veteran to come to Seattle to be the number three option behind Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf. We now have multiple data points regarding paying aging tight ends to come to Seattle, so avoid that too. Finally, we discuss why cutting really good veteran players to simply create cap space is nonsensical.
