Aloha!

Over the past 5 years, I have had the privilege to both post links and help provide an incredible forum for Seahawks fans across the globe to come together and talk about football, food, travel, and life in general. I have posted on birthdays, holidays, vacations, the day my son was born, the day I passed my Sommelier exam, all the days. Creating this daily post to give you all the opportunity to read and discuss has been an automatic part of my daily routine, for 1,800 consecutive days. And, it’s been an honor. I really can’t think of a better online community to have been a part of.

As I live on Maui, my contributions to the site have always come after my work day, which as a Somm, means around 1 or 2 in the morning. It worked great for my schedule for years, however as my son is now almost 2 years old, I find myself really dragging through our morning routine. Anyone who has kids and knows how fun and energy filled those first few hours of the day are will understand how taxing it can be to attempt to give 100% on just 4 or 5 hours of sleep. As such, I’ve made the decision for myself and my family to step away from being a daily contributor at Field Gulls starting March 1st. I’ll miss Coffee and Cigarettes/Century Links/Pre-Snap Reads, but most of all, I’ll miss the level of connection I’ve felt with the Seahawks fan base. Living in what is predominantly Niners and Cowboys territory, having an avenue to stay connected to Seattle sports has been so meaningful for me.

I thank all of you who read, all of you who comment, and all of you who make this site such an amazing place to interact with. You all make this site what it is.

I’ll still lurk, and comment, and perhaps write a guest post here or there assuming my writing and content is up to par. I’ll miss being a part of the team for sure.

I wish everyone all the light, laughter, good health, and happiness.

So, Aloha Field Gulls. I hope I brought to you all at least a fraction of the joy you brought me.

Oh yeah.....and GO HAWKS!!!!
