Welcome to free agency for the 2021 NFL Season!
Well okay, it’s not actually the start just yet. But the “legal tampering period” starts today (Monday, March 15th) and that’s as good as saying free agency is underway. The new league years kicks off at 1 PM PT on March 17th, at which point signings will be made official as will trades that were reported over the past few weeks.
The Seattle Seahawks have a lot of key starters and top reserves on both sides of the ball, most notably running backs Chris Carson and Carlos Hyde, linebacker K.J. Wright, and cornerback Shaquill Griffin. Poona Ford is also a restricted free agent as of this writing and has not been tendered yet. They have until Wednesday to tender any of their RFAs and ERFAs.

Shaquem Griffin is not expected to receive a restricted free agent tender from the Seahawks, which would make him an unrestricted free agent on Wednesday.
The Seahawks and CB Shaquill Griffin were far apart on money before the negotiating window opened. I'm told Seattle made a strong push at the end and got very close. I'm also told they aren't tendering Shaquill's twin brother Shaquem Griffin as an RFA, so he'll be unrestricted.
