Many fans of the Seattle Seahawks became very excited at the prospect of potentially adding Rodney Hudson in free agency when reports emerged Tuesday that the Las Vegas Raiders would be releasing Hudson. Hudson was reportedly unhappy with the Raiders overhauling their offensive line, as they had traded Trent Brown to the New England Patriots and were reportedly set to release Gabe Jackson as well. However, it turns out that the Raiders never actually got around to releasing Hudson, and interested teams then reached out in order to prevent him from actually reaching market.
That sait, the team that won the bidding war for the right to acquire Hudson is one of the NFC West division foes.

This leaves the Seahawks still looking for a starting center, with 2020 starter Ethan Pocic an unrestricted free agent. In addition, another division rival agreed to add another big name center Tuesday, with the San Francisco 49ers agreeing to terms on a contract with Alex Mack.
So, as the Seahawks continue to remain disciplined, the rest of the NFC West appears to be in an arms race to build the most powerful trench teams in football, with significant resources being spent to improve on both the offensive and defensive lines so far in the young offseason.
