Akiem Hicks and Kyle Fuller the two players Bears reportedly offered

According to multiple rumors and reports, defensive lineman Akiem Hicks and cornerback Kyle Fuller were the two defensive players offered to the Seattle Seahawks in the trade proposal the Chicago Bears put together in attempts to acquire Russell Wilson.

Reports broke Wednesday that John Schneider and Bears GM Ryan Pace met in Fargo, ND while in the area for the North Dakota State pro-day, and “exchanged trade proposals.” The Bears offer was three first-round picks, a third-round pick, and two defensive players, who apparently were Hicks and Fuller.

What’s funny about that, however, is that the Bears just made Kyle Fuller a cap casualty and are now reported to be giving Akiem Hicks permission to seek a trade. So, one player offered was cut and the other they are now looking to unload. It’s obviously possible that the Bears offer could have included other players, but at this point in time it appears as though Pace was hoping to pull a fast one on Schneider. That said, Schneider is probably shaking his head at the audacity of Pace to offer a player soon to become a cap casualty, muttering under his breathe, “Who does he think I am Bill O’Brien? Does he not know the name Barkevious Mingo?”
