The Seattle Seahawks offensive line is shaping up to look quite similar in the 2021 season.
The team has made its latest signing in their quest to solidify the depth along the offensive line, bringing back offensive tackle Cedric Ogbuehi for another season, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo. Ogbuehi signed for Seattle on March 23 of last year, and started four games during the 2020 season.

The move comes after Seattle re-signed G Jordan Simmons to a one-year deal earlier on Wednesday. Seattle increased its depth in the interior of the offensive line earlier in the offseason by re-signing C Ethan Pocic to a 1-year, 3 million-dollar deal, tendering ERFA C/G Kyle Fuller, and by trading for Raiders G Gabe Jackson.
Ogbuehi, who was a Cincinnati Bengals first-round pick in 2015, was serviceable when filling in for Brandon Shell in 2020. The 28 year-old allowed one sack in 277 offensive snaps across the eight games in which he appeared. While it will likely will not provide a long-term solution at tackle for Seattle in the future (i.e. replacing the aging Duane Brown upon his retirement), the signing of Ogbuehi brings continuity to a unit which has seen quite a bit of upheaval during the past few seasons. Seahawks fans will have to hope that this continuity will be enough to keep Shane Waldron and Russell Wilson’s offense afloat.
