According to a report by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo, former 49ers, Raiders, and Cowboys pass rusher Aldon Smith is visiting the Seattle Seahawks today.
#Cowboys free agent pass-rusher Aldon Smith is visiting the #Seahawks today, per me and @MikeGarafolo. A possible low-risk, high-reward addition for Seattle if all checks out. He had 50 QB pressures and 5 sacks last year.

Aldon Smith is known for being the fastest player to record 30 sacks and for having the NFL record for sacks in a players first two seasons. However, Smith is also infamously known for his legal troubles as he has had multiple DUI’s and most recently in 2018 had a domestic violence incident that also involved alcohol. After his first two of three DUI’s Smith voluntarily entered a rehab facility in 2013, but was cut the day after his third in 2015 by the 49ers. He signed that year with then Oakland Raiders, but was suspended later on in the season and was not reinstated by the league until 2020.
In his first season back in the NFL in four years, Smith started all 16 games for the Dallas Cowboys, with 5 sacks, 48 tackles, 5 tackles for loss, 14 QB hits, 2 passes defensed, and 2 fumble recoveries, one of which was a 78 yard scoop and score.
