Teams around the league hope to have made big improvements to their roster Thursday night in the first round of the NFL Draft. The Seahawks, however, sat quietly through day one without a pick as a result of the Jamal Adams trade. We’ll be having this same conversation next year too.
But that’s not a problem for Seahawks fans, according to those polled in the latest SB Nation Reacts survey.
We’ll have another SB Nation Reacts next week to assess the Seahawks’ draft as a whole, but it’s not like we had a lot to talk about on Thursday. Hell we didn’t have a ton to discuss on Friday!
The biggest stories of the night around the league came, as they often do, from teams hoping to have found their franchise quarterback. Five signal callers went in the first 15 picks, including the first 1-2-3 QB stretch since 1999. Two of those QBs from the ‘99 class were Tim Couch and Akili Smith so the hope for the trio of Trevor Lawrence, Zach Wilson, and Trey Lance is we don’t get a 2-to-1 bust clip. Well... we’re Seahawks fans so hopefully Lance is a bust.
According to fans around the league, the Jacksonville Jaguars made the right choice with the first overall pick. 56 percent of NFL fans think Trevor Lawrence will be the best quarterback drafted this year. The Chicago Bears decision to jump up in the draft also appears to be well received, with 15 percent thinking their new quarterback Justin Fields will be the best QB.
The draft continues comes to an end on Saturday. As mentioned earlier, following the final pick, fans will have a chance to grade the Seahawks draft class when the next Reacts survey is sent out.
