Another member of the Seahawks’ 2017 draft class is headed elsewhere.

Safety Lano Hill, whom the Seahawks selected as one of their four third-round picks in the 2017 NFL Draft, signed with the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. Hill is the second member of the ‘Hawks’ 2017 class to join Matt Rhule & company this offseason, after WR David Moore signed with the Panthers earlier this year.

Former Seahawks TE/DE Stephen Sullivan also joined the Panthers earlier this offseason, which shouldn’t be a surprise considering their GM is former Seahawks executive Scott Fitterer.

Hill made just two appearances for Seattle in 2020 after starting four games in 2019. The Panthers acquired Hill after he stood out as a tryout player at the team’s rookie minicamp.

Hill is the latest member of the 2017 draft class to depart the team, after the aforementioned Moore and Shaquill Griffin departed earlier in free agency. Only two of the eleven selections Seattle made during the 2017 draft, C Ethan Pocic and RB Chris Carson, remain on the roster.
