Another future Hall-of-Famer has been linked to the Seahawks’ top rival.
Just weeks after Aaron Rodgers’ name was floated as a potential replacement for Jimmy Garoppolo, an article from The Athletic has named San Francisco as a potential destination for Atlanta Falcons receiver Julio Jones.
If the Falcons do trade Julio Jones, the best fit would be a young, contending team with cap space, @JeffSchultzATL writes.

Jones, 32, has been rumored to be on the way out in Atlanta due to his age, injury issues, and cost. Considering the fact that Calvin Ridley has also emerged as a WR1 option in Atlanta, it’s not implausible that Jones could be shipped out before the 2021 season.
Jeff Schultz names the Niners as a potential destination for Jones due to their status as a potential competitor with some cap space. While the Niners don’t have the same amount of space for Jones as some of the other squads on the list, it’s not unfathomable for Jones to end up in red and gold.
Jones has tormented Seattle over the years in the frequent inter-conference games between Seattle and Atlanta. In Week 1 of 2020, he had 9 catches for 157 yards against a porous Seattle secondary. In 2019, he had 10 catches for 152 yards against the ‘Hawks. Even in this later stage of his career, Jones poses a serious threat to any secondary he faces. While there is no confirmation that the 49ers are actively interested in a trade, even the though of Julio Jones suiting up every week for Kyle Shanahan’s offense is enough to keep Seahawks fans up at night.
