Some minor roster news to report on this Wednesday afternoon, as the Seattle Seahawks picked up former Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Nate Evans off of waivers.

Evans is an undrafted free agent out of the University of Central Florida, signing with the Jaguars in 2020. He did not appear in any regular season games but was placed on the team’s practice squad before being waived on Tuesday. As a collegiate player, he was teammates with Shaquem and Shaquill Griffin at UCF. Evans amassed 247 total tackles, 23.5 for loss, and four sacks. He also had a fumble return for a touchdown in his junior season.

There’s really nothing more to add apart from the fact that Evans is training camp fodder and will be competing for a roster spot. Seattle is a little light on linebackers but with the additions of him and Aaron Donkor, they’ll be up to six under contract at the position — Bobby Wagner, Jordyn Brooks, Cody Barton, and Ben Burr-Kirven are the other four.
