Two Seahawks stars have been recognized by the NFL as some of the best young talents in the game.
D.K. Metcalf, 23, and Damien Lewis, 24, were both recognized by the league’s Nick Shook in the latest edition of NFL.com’s annual All-Under-25 team. The pair were the first Seahawks to be named to the list since Michael Dickson was given the honor in 2019.
Both are certainly deserving. Metcalf has pulled in 141 catches for 2,203 yards in two years in the NFL, and set a franchise record with 1,303 yards last year. He also has 17 touchdowns so far in his career and alongside Tyler Lockett has established one of the top receiving duos in the league.
Lewis, who Seattle took in the third round of the 2020 draft, shined in his rookie year, excelling in both pass and run blocking. His performance earned him a spot on the PFWA’s All-Rookie team. This season he will move from right guard to left guard, with Gabe Jackson going to his old spot after Seattle acquired him in a trade.
Metcalf’s “teammates” at the receiver position are Justin Jefferson and A.J. Brown (who will now be partnered up with veteran Julio Jones in Tennessee), while Lewis is joined by players like Mekhi Beckton and Super Bowl champion Tristan Wirfs. Ravens QB Lamar Jackson, Packers CB Jaire Alexander, and Colts K Rodrigo Blankenship were among the other young stars recognized by the league.
