The hype surrounding the potential for the Seattle Seahawks to potentially add a game changer on either offense or defense has been significant in recent weeks. Whether it’s been the vocal section of the fanbase calling for the team to add Julio Jones from the Atlanta Falcons or a less vocal group that has been hoping for the team to bring in yet another defensive back from the AFC East in Stephon Gilmore, there’s been no shortage of ideas on who to add.

Monday the Seahawks made a roster move, but it wasn’t an addition, and it likely wasn’t anyone that fans had penciled in as a difference maker for 2021.

So, while Nick Guggemos is no longer on the roster, the competition at the tight end position is likely to remain heated through camp. While the top two spots on the depth chart seem to all but belong to Gerald Everett and Will Dissly, Seattle is a pair of injuries away from having a tight end depth chart with a combined four dozen or so snaps of on field NFL experience. So, don’t be surprised if the team makes a move at the position. There are not exactly a lot of big names left at the position in free agency, but someone like Luke Willson, Tyler Eifert or Jesse James could certainly be added prior to the start of training camp.
