Day two of Seattle Seahawks training camp is in the books, and there’s Not a whole lot to report from Thursday’s practice. To me, that feels like a positive because far too often training camp stories involve something negative like an injury.
Duane Brown and Jamal Adams remain at camp but not actually practicing, which really shouldn’t be an issue for either man. The focus for Adams is clearly on recovering from his surgeries and to get a new deal that will likely see him become the highest paid safety in the NFL.
Bobby Wagner and Rashaad Penny spoke with media after practice ended. The focus for Wagner was undoubtedly not having his longtime teammate K.J. Wright alongside him like we’ve seen over the previous nine seasons. There’s yet to be an indicator that he’ll be coming back, either. As for Penny, he says he’s healthy and he’s slimmed down and feelsl
Here are some of the highlights.
Bobby Wagner on KJ Wright
Bobby Wagner on how longtime Seahawks teammate K.J Wright remains unsigned: “It’s very interesting that somebody could come off one of his best seasons and find himself not on a team.” Wagner later said he thinks Wright is doing alright and “waiting for the right opportunity.” pic.twitter.com/Mv5uElYSWj

...on Darrell Taylor and Cody Barton
Bobby Wagner on Darrell Taylor: "He's very explosive, very explosive. Equally as smart. Very smart. And you know, when you watch him on the field, you can definitely tell when he's out there. Whether it's pass rush, sometimes when he's dropping, yeah, it's definitely noticeable."

Bobby Wagner on Cody Barton:"He's grown a lot...when he stepped in here he learned the playbook really fast, that was something that impressed me, how quick he picked up on the plays and how quick he learned the defense...every year he's trying to find something to get better at"

...And Jamal Adams
Bobby Wagner on teammate Jamal Adams, who didn’t practice again today awaiting a big new contract: “he had an extraordinary impact (on the #Seahawks in 2020). His energy is so contagious...He’s deserving of everything he’s looking for. And we as players support him.” pic.twitter.com/Xqyhya3hSg

...Why are you wearing sweats when it’s so damn hot, Bobby?
It was 88 degrees today in Renton and Bobby Wagner wore sweats. He likes to do that “no matter how hot it is.” He figured a while ago that if he can handle it in practice it would make games easier. “It’s more of a mental thing than actual style, even though it’s still stylish.” pic.twitter.com/bQf9Ll8bVn

Penny’s off-season surgery was to clean up the knee. “I feel 100. I feel explosive. Lightest I’ve been. Way faster. Feel like I did in high school.” #Seahawks
