Report: Seahawks expected to sign Luke Willson

The Seattle Seahawks have one last preseason game to tune up for the regular season, and that will come Saturday when they host the Los Angeles Chargers. In the meantime a report emerged Tuesday that the team is expected to make a move to add an experienced veteran in the coming days. Unfortunately it may not be the specific experienced veteran many fans had hoped the Hawks would add to the roster this week.

The return of Luke Willson would not be a surprise given the state of the tight end group for the Seahawks currently. Gerald Everett and Will Dissly are at the top of the depth chart, but both Colby Parkinson and Tyler Mabry are dealing with foot injuries that could keep them out into the regular season. As such, bringing back an experienced veteran who could provide some stability at the position and potentially even slide down to the practice squad if necessary would be reasonable.

No official announcement yet, but that could come prior to when the team hits the field for practice later Tuesday.
