I was supposed to wrap up our offseason Casual Friday series last week and just completely forgot. By the time I remembered it was already Saturday. Fear not, as I remembered this week!
How about we wrap up Casual Friday by shooting the shit about beer? Good experiences, bad experiences, preferences, and anything in between. That I’m the one starting the discussion because I’m not much of a drinker. I am beer illiterate, which seems disqualifying as both a sports fan and especially a Seattle Seahawks fan, but it’s true. But I imagine virtually everyone reading this drinks beer to varying degrees, and the outcomes of Seahawks games may raise the intake considerably.
I have little to contribute so I’ll offer you just one paragraph. I’ve taken a liking to Pilsners, having tried one at a (since closed) taco joint in Downtown Portland. A restaurant near where I live also serves it during Happy Hour and it’s good value when paired with their wings and salad. It’s got a good amount of bitterness but isn’t heavy and that’s probably where my woefully underdeveloped beer taste buds would gravitate. Evidently Olympia Beer (which I’ve not had in ages) is a thing of the past and Pabst Brewing Co kicked it to the curb. A couple of years ago I gave coffee beer a shot and that was a poor idea I shouldn’t have explored given I’m not a coffee drinker.
Go! Discuss beer! And other adult beverages like hard lemonade and seltzers! And please drink responsibly.
