The Seattle Seahawks’ 2021 NFL regular season is finally here!
Year 12 of the Pete Carroll era and year 10 under Russell Wilson kicks off against the Indianapolis Colts, a team that made the playoffs last season but will have Carson Wentz at quarterback instead of the retired Philip Rivers. against the Indianapolis Colts, a team that made the playoffs last season but will have Carson Wentz at quarterback instead of the retired Philip Rivers.
After a preseason foot operation, Wentz is set to start and so will start left guard Quenton Nelson. Xavier Rhodes is out which will leave the Colts thin at cornerback, and it’s something that Wilson, new offensive coordinator Shane Waldron, and receivers DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett will be eager to take advantage of. There are high expectations for the Seahawks to be in the playoffs again, but actual postseason success has been scarce in recent years. The Colts will try to revive Wentz’s career, and that starts with reuniting him with head coach and former Philadelphia Eagles assistant Frank Reich. They certainly have a roster that’s good enough to challenge for a playoff spot in the AFC.
