2020 was the year that the Seattle Seahawks decided to “Let Russ Cook.” This was an offseason rallying cry that made its way to ESPN, Seattle became a proactively pass-first offense, then Wilson trademarked the phrase midseason. We won’t revisit how things ended compared to the red-hot start; this is just an acknowledgement that this was what happened last season!
Now let’s fast forward to the post-game press conference from last Sunday’s win over the Indianapolis Colts. These are Pete Carroll’s words and we have it all on video.
Pete Carroll had a slip of the tongue while talking about the strong debut for new OC Shane Waldron, Russell Wilson and the Seahawks’ offense: “He and Russ were just cooking — oh, I’m sorry I said that.” pic.twitter.com/uxfCHU3gKB
