The Seattle Seahawks’ home opener is here!
After a season opening road win over the Indianapolis Colts, Seattle has yet another AFC South opponent to face when they take on the defending divisional champion Tennessee Titans. This is the first Seahawks game in front of a full house of fans since the end of the 2019 season, and it should be even louder than usual given how the 12s missed out on attending any games at Lumen Field in 2020.
Tennessee is coming off a lopsided 38-13 loss at home to the Arizona Cardinals. Ryan Tannehill was sacked five times just by Chandler Jones himself, Derrick Henry was held in check, and the Titans defense was picked apart by Kyler Murray’s arm and his legs. We should assume they’ll turn in a better showing on Sunday against the Seahawks, especially as 0-2 historically doesn’t put you in favorable position to make the playoffs. Maybe things will change with an expanded field and a 17-game regular season, but 0-2 still provides you with little room for error.
The Seahawks will be without electrifying rookie receiver Dee Eskridge due to a concussion, while the Titans’ already shaky defense won’t have starting cornerback Caleb Farley with his own injury. Seattle’s cornerbacks will get a serious test going up against Julio Jones and A.J. Brown.
