The week has been extremely busy for the Seattle Seahawks. They started off by making the NFL mandated cuts to get the roster from 80 to 53, then did their customary shuffling and juggling on the fringes of the roster before filling out 1r of the 17 spots on the practice squad Wednesday.
Earlier Thursday it was reported that they were set to sign cornerback Michael Jackson to the practice squad as well, leaving just a pair of open space there. Now, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, they are set to add a former college basketball player, leaving just one open spot.
This is a fun one: Mark Vital, coming off a national championship with the Baylor Bears in basketball, is signing to the #Seahawks, Young Money APAA Sports confirms https://t.co/zpt6H8Zna0

Mark Vital was listed as 6’5”, 250 pounds during his time with the Baylor Bears basketball program, while helping the team to the NCAA National Championship in March. Whether he is able to do anything at the NFL, or whether this will be another quick sign, evaluate and release, much like the Seahawks did during training camp with former Iowa State basketball player Michael Jacobson, remains to be seen.
For now, just a single spot remains open on the practice squad.
