After a disappointing collapse last week against the Tennessee Titans, the Seattle Seahawks (1-1) will look to rebound on the road against the Minnesota Vikings (0-2), who are finally playing their first home game of the year.
If Seattle had a brutal loss by squandering a 24-9 halftime lead, the Vikings had the more gut-wrenching end of game sequence. In a back-and-forth thriller with the Arizona Cardinals, all Greg Joseph needed to do was kick a 34-yard field goal and Minnesota would have gotten a road win... no dice. He missed it wide right and the Vikings are 0-2 as a result of a missed field goal on their part and a made field goal by the Cincinnati Bengals in overtime of the season opener.
The Seahawks have yet to lose to the Vikings under Russell Wilson. This is only their third road game in Minnesota during that span, with the other two both occurring in the 2015 season. Believe it or not, this is their first trip to the new US Bank Stadium and they will be tasked with shutting down the Vikings’ high-powered offense, led by Kirk Cousins at QB with wide receivers Justin Jefferson and Adam Thielen, not to mention running back Dalvin Cooker.
The Seahawks will once again be without rookie receiver Dee Eskridge due to a concussion. Bryan Mone will return to the defensive lineup after missing last week’s game to injury. On the Vikings side, Dalvin Cook is questionable with an ankle sprain but he’s likely to play, while superstar linebacker Anthony Barr remains out of the lineup.
