The defensive backfield of the Seattle Seahawks will be a little bit thinner than expected when their Week 3 matchup kicks off at 1:25 in Minnesota. Per Bob Condotta, Marquise Blair suffered a knee injury during pregame warm-ups and will be out for the day.

While a knee injury was reported during practice this week, but there has been no indication so far whether the scratch today is an aggravation or a new injury. In any case, stay tuned for further updates on Blair’s status going forward. In addition, Condotta also reports that the Blair injury is what led the Seahawks to keep cornerback John Reid active for the game against the Vikings.
John Reid, who had been set to be inactive, will be active and might be the backup nickel today if one is needed.

According to Pro Football Reference, Marquise Blair had been on the field for 25% of the Seahawks’ defensive snaps during the first two weeks of the season (41 in total) and 37% of special teams snaps. Seattle’s defense is already missing a few notable contributors, including Benson Mayowa (injury) and L.J. Collier (healthy scratch). Reid could see his first on field action for the Hawks since being acquired from the Houston Texans during training camp. In any case, the Seahawks will still have Ugo Amadi as the nickel corner, while a full list of today’s inactives can be found here.
