‘Can’t thank you guys enough’ - K.J. Wright says goodbye to Seattle

Any slim possibility that K.J. Wright would be on the Seattle Seahawks roster for the 2021 season was erased on Thursday, when it was reported that Wright had signed with the Las Vegas Raiders on a one-year deal.

Wright’s departure ends the longtime partnership between him and Bobby Wagner, and barring any surprise signing will confirm that none of the players from the 2011 roster will be on this year’s squad.

After the news broke, Wright went to social media to bid farewell to Seattle, both written and in video.

“Seattle, what’s going on? K.J. here,” Wright said. “I just wanted to thank each and every one of you for these past 10 years. This journey has been nothing but amazing and it’s definitely been my honor and my privilege to perform in front of y’all, to bring a championship to the city, to visit schools, to work in the community, to just giving my heart and soul to the city. It’s truly been my pleasure.

“To everybody that supported me through this journey, fighting for me, I felt it and it truly meant a lot to me. This chapter is closing. It was a fun chapter — the love and support that I got since day one has been nothing but amazing. And this next chapter is gonna be just as good.

“Much love to each and every one of y’all. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Gotta keep it going. Can’t thank you guys enough.”

A class act, a top-class player, and all the best to K.J. as he heads down to Las Vegas after 10 unforgettable seasons with the Seahawks.

Thank you, K.J. Thanks for everything.
