It’s probably a bit much to call Chuck Arnold’s story a rags to riches tale. An underdog story, though? No question. Arnold, now president of the Seattle Seahawks, started as an intern for the organization fresh out of college, after graduating from Washington State. He filled water jugs. He held the down marker at practice. He drove players to the airport, took them to doctor’s appointments, drove them to and from hotels. When ceiling tiles fell at the Kingdome and forced the Seahawks to move into Husky Stadium temporarily, Arnold slept on the floor of the office for a week, printing tickets around the clock.
