The Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams are locked in a close, low-scoring divisional matchup that is reminiscent of ugly Seahawks-Rams games of the past. However, on the final play of the third quarter the Seahawks watched their starting quarterback, Geno Smith, get absolutely crushed by Aaron Donald, leading to a trip into the medical tent and backup Drew Lock taking the field for the start of the fourth quarter.
Aaron Donald just crushed Geno. His arm, shoulder, whatever. It was bad. Terrible whiff by Haynes.

Crushed is a very apt word to describe the hit, and it’s no surprise that Smith ended up leaving the game with an injury.

After the hit, Smith went into the blue medical tent for evaluation, and as Gregg Bell notes, an NFL concussion advisor was also in the tent, which could indicate that Smith is being evaluated for a concussion.

Smith getting knocked out of the game gave Drew Lock his second opportunity to take snaps for the Hawks, after also stepping in against the New York Giants when Geno was injured.
At the start of the 4Q, Drew Lock will have a third-and-10 at the 36, his team leading 16-7.
