‘Monday Night Football’: Bears at Vikings, picks and open thread

Yet another phenomenal matchup on Monday Night Football

Monday is here, which hopefully means everybody has recovered from the weekend, and we are ready for another round of Monday Night Football! DraftKings Sportsbook is favoring the semi-resurgent Minnesota Vikings by a field goal as they get set to host the semi-dormant 3-7 Bears. But despite Chicago’s 3-7 record, did you know that Justin Fields is quickly becoming a decorated quarterback this season? While he is showing signs of improvement as a signal caller, he remains an unknown for the Chicago Bears. He is clearly able to use his physical gifts to do things that most quarterbacks can’t; but he also struggles at times to the point of infuriating an already testy fanbase who has grown weary of middling to poor Bears teams.

Meanwhile, remember Josh Dobbs? He is 2-1 since joining departing the deserts of Arizona for the midwest. In this span, he has tossed 4 touchdowns to only one interception. Don’t put the ring on his finger just yet, but he is at least making a case for himself as a potential NFL starter. At 6-5 they remain in playoff contention, and their loss to the Denver Broncos actually doesn’t look bad given what Mile High Russ is cookin’. I have long-term reservations about the Vikings with regard to their actual postseason potential, but I am not going to overthink this one. They should have an opportunity to carve up the Bears’ vulnerable defense, at least enough to win by more than a field goal.

The Pick: Under 44 points, Vikings win and cover the spread
