Notebook: Seahawks looking to cut back on penalties — as usual - The Seattle Times
It's an immutable fact of being a Seahawks fan in the Pete Carroll era that you're just going to have to accept a certain amount of penalties every game. Since Carroll took over as coach in 2010, the Seahawks have ranked in the top half of the most-penalized teams every season but one — 2021, when they had the 11th fewest. Illustrative of Carroll's belief that a lack of penalties isn't necessarily a big factor in winning or losing, the Seahawks finished 7-10 that season, the team's only losing record since 2011. Conversely, in each of the two years they went to the Super Bowl under Carroll, the Seahawks committed the most penalties in the NFL.
