I cannot remember the last time we needed an overflow thread for the NFL Draft, but 1,200 comments in the first thread has convinced me we need a fresh place to talk about the rest of the opening round of the draft.

The Seattle Seahawks began their 2023 class with a somewhat surprising pick of Illinois cornerback Devon Witherspoon, who’s the first corner taken before Round 3 in the Pete Carroll/John Schneider era. They did not trade down from their top pick for the fourth consecutive year, and while this was not a top need, it was still some level of need for a defense that has had its struggles at all three levels of the field.

Seattle is scheduled to be back on the clock at No. 20 overall. If you want rolling updates on Round 1, click back to the original thread.
